GROUND COVER GARDEN

This garden is located at the base of the famous and dramatic Goff Larch Tree, planted in 1899. Nestled among its weeping branches are more than 16 cultivars of ground covers.

In the spring of 2007, a heavy snowstorm caused a portion of the Larch to split and break off. However, the base of the tree was able to be saved. While the overall shape of the tree is now changed, it continues to live on in a smaller capacity in the Gardens.
