Focus is on the post-harvest physiology
of potato tubers. Areas of emphasis include tuber water relations,
carbohydrate metabolism, & physiological age. Experiments
are conducted at the molecular, cellular, whole tuber, &
commercial-storage levels. Long-term goals are to gain a more
detailed understanding of potato physiology, and to identify
specific molecular and cellular events that predict or influence
the marketability of stored potatoes.
