The following are scholarships offered through the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Applications are due in February of each year. Please email Laura Jull at lgjull@wisc.edu with questions.

William Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate Horticulture $300 Undergraduate WI resident
with satisfactory academic standing, minimum 2.75 g.p.a.

David Student Enhancement Fund
Graduate and Undergraduate: F, S, J, S Horticulture $1,400 Scholarship awarded based
on financial need, minimum 3.0 g.p.a. Preference to students who demonstrate
leadership ability.
Cushman,
Kent Scholarship
Undergraduate: Junior or Senior Horticulture $300 For undergraduate student
majoring in vegetable crop production during third of fourth year of study,
minimum 2.8 g.p.a., and reasonable financial need. This award is for 2
years only: 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years only.

Preference given to students interested in ornamental horticulture.
Gulsteen,
Gurine (Gjermundson) Research Fellowship
Graduate Horticulture and all CALS
Depts.
$1,600 For funding of graduate
student researching practical problems faced by Wisconsin farmers.
Supplementary stipend to students who have
at least 1/3-1/2 time research assistantship position. Must be a U.S. citizen not receiving any
current assistantship or fellowship.
Funding for up to 3 years. Individual departments nominate the graduate student.

$3,500 Preference to juniors but
seniors can apply, 2.75 minimum g.p.a., natural resource option, area of
interest preference: 1) conservation, 2) horticulture, 3) landscape

Undergraduate Horticulture or other plant
sciences
$2,000 Fund supports student
scholarships and/or research projects in horticulture or other plant
sciences.
Wisconsin
Crop Production Association Ronald E. Doersch Scholarship (Used to be called
Wisconsin Fertilizer and Chemical Association Scholarship)
Undergraduate: Junior or Senior Horticulture, Agronomy,
Entomology, Plant Pathology, or Soils
$2,500 Students must demonstrate
an interest in soil fertility and plant nutrition or pest management, must be
a U.S. citizen and can only receive this award once.
Consideration given to scholastic ability,
minimum 3.0 g.p.a., and leadership activities.
Wisconsin
State Cranberry Growers Association Scholarship
Undergraduate: Junior or Senior Horticulture, Entomology,
Plant Pathology, or Soils
$1,000, several of them
awarded
Student with minimum 2.75
g.p.a., interest in the cranberry growing industry. Juniors only can receive award two years in
a row. Can be given to a student
without the specific interest in cranberries, as long as student is a good
student.
