Smithsonian Horticulture Internship Opportunities
The Horticulture Services Division (HSD) internship program at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C, is open to all current undergraduate and graduate students who study horticulture or related disciplines. A number of paid and unpaid internships are offered throughout the year in positions involving grounds management, greenhouse production, landscape architecture, and collections management. Grounds Internships with Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club will once again be offering internships in our grounds department. The program will be divided into sports turf management internships and landscape internships to allow students to concentrate on their particular area of interest. All internships are paid hourly positions. In addition to regular grounds crew job duties, each intern is expected to complete a series of special projects. Student projects are assigned based on area of interest and may include: a one month rotation managing our youth baseball facility, creation of a fertilizer and pesticide program, designing annual plantings, designing or renovating perennial/woody plantings, resume revision and creating a departmental budget.

There are opportunities for part- and full-time employment in the Garden for students. This is an excellent way to add horticulture experience to a resume without traveling.
There are several full-time student internships available in the Garden. Students are responsible for the care and maintenance of the Rock Garden, as well as some work in the other parts of the Garden.
The UW Student Job Center lists part-time, limited term employment(LTE)and summer job openings located at UW-Madison and off-campus in the private and public sectors.
Work-Study is a federally funded, need-based program in which the government and the employer share the payroll cost of employing a student.
